The State Government is taking the initiative to start the industry in Mihan-SEZ by the drug manufacturing companies of the country. With the help of roads, railways and port connectivity, the investment in Nagpur is growing rapidly and it has the potential to be a hub of medicines, said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in the meeting of the pharmaceutical manufacturers.

On Tuesday, the Food and Drug Administration Department organized a meeting of pharmaceutical companies in Sahyadri Guest House. At that meeting, Fadnavis appealed to the drug manufacturers to start an industry in Mihan-SEZ. Union Minister of State for Transport and Shipping Shri Nitin Gadkari, Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar, Civil Supplies Minister Girish Bapat, Energy Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, State Minister Madan Yerawar, Mahadev Jankar, Vice President and Managing Director of Maharashtra Airport Development Company Suresh Kakani, Technical Advisor SV Chawande, Drugs and Food Administration Commissioner Pallavi Darade, founder of the Vedic Govind Daga in Nagpur, President Devendra Parekh, General Secretary Rahul Upanglawar, and around 70 companies in Mumbai and the area were present. Fadnavis appealed to the pharmaceutical companies to invest in Mihan-SEZ.

At the time, a consortium of Rs 1300 crores was signed with medicinal companies. These include Shalina Lab Pvt Ltd, Torrent Pharma, Wells Pharma, Keur Pharma, SG Pharma, Nikita Chemicals, Zinlab Labs, Snehal Pharmaceuticals, BDH Industries, Siddhu Ayurveda, SK Logistics, Arka Life Sciences and other companies. This agreement has created the possibility of becoming an Narmada hub of Nagpur Drug. The state government is working to boost the industries which are stuck in the MIHAN project. It is a meeting of investors in Mumbai as a part of it. In the meeting, the Chief Minister appealed to target specific industries. For that, setting a consultant and agency for a particular area will help in the development of related clusters. Some entrepreneurs showed compatibility to start the industry outside of Mumbai. Chief Minister expressed his willingness to give public space to the generic drug manufacturing companies in Miyanpuri Butibori stage-1 and Phase 2.

Vidarbha is growing rapidly along with Nagpur. Samrudhi is a network of other commercial educational institutions including highways, metro railways, roads, IIMs, engineering, pharma. The Chief Minister said that Nagpur is the main place of investment.
